Anil Sharma considers submitting “Gadar 2” to the Oscars, highlighting its uniqueness.

Gadar 2, the most recent film from director Anil Sharma, is now dominating the box office, and the director has revealed that several fans have called him to ask him to “send” Gadar 2 to the Oscars.

Sharma claimed in an interview with Indian Express that “Gadar Ek Prem Katha” also deserved to attend the Academy Awards.

For the uninitiated, ‘Gadar 2’ with Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma in the key parts, was released last month. The movie received mixed reviews when it first came out, but ever since then, it has broken box office records. It is referred to as the success of movies that typically do not win awards.

“I am getting calls from people asking me to submit the movie for the Oscars. Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001) failed to make a profit, so I’m not sure how Gadar 2 will perform, but we’re still here. Gadar 2 should, though, because the movie merits it. Gadar deserves it as well. The 1947 division served as the inspiration for Gadar, and we interpreted the tale totally differently. It was a brand-new, unique plot, and Gadar 2 is the same, according to Anil, who spoke to the newspaper. Lagaan, directed by Aamir Khan, was up for Best Foreign Language Film that year, according to Sharma.

The filmmaker said that he felt the same way and questioned why the people who sit on the award committees believe they are not deserving of the prizes, citing Dharmendra’s statement that he felt he wasn’t a part of the industry.

“With Gadar 2, we were able to touch people’s hearts. I won’t lie, even we crave recognition. But because I knew I wouldn’t get it, I didn’t anticipate it. Although I am not politically inclined, I have heard that there is a lot of lobbying and PR involved in these matters. I’ve never pushed for honors,” he claimed.
