Masala Cheese Puris

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour – ¾ cup
  • Maida – ¾ cup
  • Potatoes – 2
  • Onions – 2
  • Green chillies – 2
  • Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
  • Red chilly powder – ¼ teaspoon
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Cheese (grated) – ¼ cup
  • Garam masala powder – a pinch
  • Ginger – ¼ inch piece
  • Ghee/Vanaspathi – 1 tablespoon
  • Oil (for deep frying) – as required

Method

  • 1. Pressure cook potatoes.
  • 2. peel and mash it to smooth paste.
  • 3. grate onions, mince chillies and ginger together.
  • 4. Grate cheese using fine cheese grater.
  • 5. Heat ghee and fry grated onion with minced chillies and ginger till golden brown.
  • 6. Mix all the dry ingredients in mixing bowl.
  • 7. Add mashed potatoes, grated cheese, fried onion and mix well.
  • 8. Sprinkle little water and knead to smooth dough.
  • 9. Roll out into puris and deep Fry in hot fat.
