Sharmaji Namkeen, the final film of late actor Rishi Kapoor, is slated to be released on Amazon Prime Video. The film’s producers recently held a special showing of the film in honour of Rishi Kapoor, which was attended by his family members. Rishi Kapoor’s wife Neetu Kapoor, son Ranbir Kapoor, daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and Ranbir’s girlfriend Alia Bhatt were among those who attended the film’s premiere on Wednesday.
Riddhima shared a few photos from the screening, along with a heartfelt letter, as a memorial to her father Rishi Kapoor. Riddhima shared two images from the film. The first photo has the words ‘Legends are Forever’ printed on it, while the second picture shows her late father. “It’s been over two years since dad left us physically,” she said in the post, “but his charisma is still felt and his reputation is still alive and will forever be,” she added.
“Today, as I watch my father’s final film, I am enormously happy to be his daughter! He was an exceptional actor, a loving son and brother, a doting spouse, and the most beautiful father in the universe!” Thank you, Paresh ji, for finishing the film. Riddhima signed off her message with a prayer hands emoji, saying, “The family will always be appreciative for your great gift.”
Rishi Kapoor was unable to complete his film due to his unexpected death, and renowned actor Paresh Rawal was forced to fill in for him. After a two-year fight with cancer, Rishi died in April 2020. Sharmaji Namkeen, directed by Hitesh Bhatia, is produced by Excel Entertainment in collaboration with MacGuffin Pictures. In addition to Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Satish Kaushik, Sheeba Chaddha, and Isha Talwar, the film stars Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Satish Kaushik, Sheeba Chaddha, and Isha Talwar.
