Jimmy Donaldson, better known on YouTube as MrBeast, became the first user on Meta’s Twitter rival Threads to reach a million followers. On the platform, he currently has over 2.5 million fans.
Only hours after downloading the just-launched app, he surpassed the goal, outpacing numerous other famous people, including CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Mr. Beast tweeted us to say: “Shhhhh, don’t let the Twitter police know I’m cheating on them” after learning of his record-breaking accomplishment, according to a statement from Guinness World Records.
Donaldson is well-known on YouTube for giving his viewers incredibly lavish presents, such as cash, automobiles, and even an island. Even better, he and his group give to those in need through their own organization, Beast Philanthropy.
On his Threads account, MrBeast keeps up the custom as well. Only a few “threads” had been posted when MrBeast stated that he would be giving away a Tesla to one of his followers at random within the next 48 hours. Over 70,000 people have replied to the post and it has earned over 330,000 likes thus far.
The native of Sweden has amassed more than 165 million subscribers on his official YouTube channel and more than 10 billion views overall. His predicted net worth in May 2023 will be around $50 million.
“Soooooo, how long until we’re also addicted to this app,” his first post on the platform stated. Lol”.
He also requested his followers to “like” his post if they thought Zuckerberg should appoint him as CEO of Threads. He also lists “Future Threads CEO” in his platform bio.
According to Zuckerberg, who presently has 1.9 million followers on the platform, Threads, which just debuted yesterday, has over 30 million sign-ups. Within 24 hours following the product’s release, Twitter sent Meta a cease-and-desist letter, accusing the business of “systematic” and “illegal misappropriation” of trade secrets.
