The well-known blue and white bird emblem of X, formerly Twitter, has been phased out.
In the most recent stage of a comprehensive revamp that platform owner Elon Musk revealed earlier this month, the mobile app’s icon was changed to a “X” late on Friday night. Though Twitter.com is still active, the business previously debuted the logo online and launched the domain X.com.
Musk announced in a statement on Sunday that the firm would soon “bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.” Musk paid $44 billion to acquire the platform late last year. The switch from Twitter to X is a reflection of Musk’s goal to make the platform into what he has dubbed a “everything app.”
Early on Saturday morning, he posted a video showing a big new X logo shining on top of the business’s headquarters.
